Is this the right move for you?
Relocating your clinical practice and your family is a major decision. We provide honest, realistic guidance for UK-trained GPs at any stage of their career.

Which stage are you at?
CCT Complete
You have completed your GP training (CCT) and MRCGP. You are ready to apply for the Certification Without Examination (CWE) pathway and start practice in BC within 6-10 months.
1-2 Years from CCT
The ideal time to start planning. You can prepare documents, verify credentials, and align your target move date with school schedules or housing goals.
3+ Years from CCT
It is never too early to understand the pathway. We help you map out what credentials to maintain and how to organize your future licensing steps.
Just Exploring
No pressure or commitments. We can talk through the LFP billing model, living costs in the Lower Mainland, and share experiences of UK doctors who relocated.
The same high standards you trained for
British Columbia\'s family medicine model values clinical autonomy, evidence-based guidelines, and patient-centered care, very similar to the NHS. You will find familiar clinical structures, but with significantly reduced administrative burdens.
Under the Longitudinal Family Practice (LFP) model, you are compensated fairly for both patient consultations and direct/indirect clinical time. This allows you to focus on high-quality medicine without rushing patient appointments.
